- Its raining so no flying on bank holiday just building instead !
But
first on Saturday night I went to see Ricky Hatton fight at the
Manchester city stadium. A crowd of 55,000 were there
chanting his name and shouting 'Who are yar?' over and over again
at his opponent in the red shorts. Ricky born in Manchester
went 12 rounds and won decisively on points. He retained his
IBO & Ring light welterweight belts and it was a cracking night.
There's only one Ricky Hatton,
One Ricky Hatton,
Walking along,
Singing a song,
Walking in a Hatton wonderland
Anyway on with the building! and continuing with
the Dan method ! so its on with the fuel tank and utilising some
ratchet straps to pull and hold the tank in place makes sure you
get the fit just right. Second picture shows that by using
the long 12" drill the inner most rib can be match drilled to its
bracket. Next the leading edge comes off so that the
outboard most rib can be drilled using the same method. The
third picture shows then by unclecoing the baffle plate, and
leaving the end most ribs in place the rest of the fuel tank is
removed. I had drawn lines in the centre of the brackets so
I could see how well everything lines up. Now remember Dan's
method says to move 1/8 away from the web on all but the inner
most bracket , so you can see the line is 1/8th out, so I am happy
with that, cause that's what I wanted to happen. The
brackets were then match drilled to the holes in the baffle plate.
There was enough time left in the day to open up
the hole for the tie down ring
